Recent biorefinery developments in the US

An announcement came from the Department of Energy (DOE) in the US on the 26th of January regarding Energy Awards of $118 Million in support of domestic biofuel production. This includes 17 projects to accelerate the production of sustainable biofuels several of them including biorefinery technologies. One major project is an $80M award to construct and operate an Alcohol-to-Jet facility from woody biomass in the state of Georgia. You can read more here and a link to the individual projects can be found here.

Unfortunately, it is not all good news in the US. On February 9 the Red Rocks Biofuels plant in Oregon was sold at auction. More information can be found here.
