Task 42 visits NREL

The 46^th Task 42 Progress Meeting was recently held in the US at the facilities of NREL in Golden from 6-8 November 2023.

The third day of the meeting consisted of a short introduction on Task 42:

1. Task 42 Biorefining in a circular economy – Overview – Bert Annevelink

Followed by several very informative introductions by key researchers at NREL:

2. Transforming The Renewable Fuels and Chemicals Industry through Innovation – Zia Abdullah
3. Feedstock Pretreatment and Biological Conversion Platform – Mike Guarnieri
4. Catalytic Carbon Transformation Platform – Bob Baldwin
5. Thermochemical Analysis – Abhijit Dutta
6. SAF Plants & Bioenergy Atlas – Kristi Moriarty

This was followed by a tour guided by Bob Baldwin around the Integrated Biorefinery Research Facility and the Thermal and Catalytic Process Development Unit.
